Real photos of young girls were in nudify-app ads on Facebook, Instagram

Meta took days to remove ads containing AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on Facebook and Instagram. Some ads featured photos of real kids, including a press photo of a young member of a European royal family and images swiped from a popular Instagram profile of a preteen girl deemed an influencer. In an investigation published Tuesday, the Tech Transparency Project (TTP) reported that Meta failed to detect 332 ads containing CSAM this year. The “vast majority” of ads promoted AI apps made in China, while many ads promoted so-called “nudify” apps that make it easy for bad actors to use AI and digitally alter images of children. TTP matched “multiple CSAM ads to photos of real c...

American truckers are benefiting from AI data center boom, and that’s exactly why they don’t share the same opinion of the majority of Americans

AI data centers are creating a much needed boom for the American trucking industryBut the boom might not last for long as the requirements for truckers fall significantly once construction finishesMoratoriums and poor opinions of AI data centers could also quell the demandAmerican truckers are being hired by AI data center developers to ship goods and construction materials to rural data center projects, with the trucking industry across the US seeing a boom in demand. As a result of this, truckers have a significantly higher opinion of AI data centers than their compatriots. But this freight hauling boom is having some knock on effects on truckers themselves, the businesses they work for, an...

ChatGPT Images 2.5 is out — I’ve been testing it for 24 hours, and these are the 3 new features you’ll actually use

It’s been a hot minute since ChatGPT last updated its Images feature. Its last update, to Images 2.0 in April 2026, was pretty solid and I’d say put it ahead of Google’s Nano Banana 2, even if its images still took longer to create, which was a bit frustrating. Today's new Images 2.5 update adds a whole bunch of extra features and tools to the existing image generation engine that make it a lot easier to use, and it's quicker too.In fact, there are so many features now in Images that to say it’s overcrowded would be an understatement. Because of that, it can be a little hard to locate the best new features amongst everything else, so I’ve pulled out the ones you should definitely look out fo...

Google’s AI weather model now uses more raw satellite data

Google is one of the major players in AI (meaning machine learning) weather forecast model space. The models it and others generate have their strengths and weaknesses, but the main advantage is that they can have forecast performance similar to traditional models while requiring far less computing horsepower to run. That means they can be run more frequently. Google recently released version 3 of its WeatherNext model, with the biggest change being that it now ingests some satellite weather data, shortening the lag time between current weather conditions and generating a new forecast. The update is detailed in a white paper. Reanalysis Many weather models make use of what’s called a “reanal...

A new class action lawsuit questions whether Anthropic broke the law by misleading power users

Anthropic says power users are key to its business - it's prioritized them even when it means cutting off other popular applications, like OpenClaw. But some of these same customers say Anthropic misled them into believing they'd get more out of a top-tier pricing subscription than they did. In an expanded class action lawsuit filed […]
